On the 18th and 19th of January, Chinese New Year was celebrated in Lisbon, Alameda.
The farewell to the year of the Pig and the beginning of the year of the Rat brought together different institutions and associations of the Chinese community in Portugal.

During the weekend, Alameda Garden was a magnificent meeting point for the Chinese community with all those who appreciate Chinese culture and cuisine. The parade on Avenida Almirante Reis and all the shows presented on the Alameda stage constituted an extraordinary kaleidoscope of the country of the Dragon. The Chinese New Year is determined by the Chinese lunar calendar that relates each year to one of the twelve animals: rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, rooster, dog and pig. The Year of the Rat officially marks on 25th January.

ICCP made a point of being present in these activities and receiving the festival participants.
